Bluff to Torrey

This is a shot of the room in Bluff, Utah - a rustic backwoods motel.
As you can see, we parked right outside the room - don't want to walk too far.
Unfortunately the trees are limes.

So the first thing to do was wash the bike down.

Gary arranged for a hire car, but the rental outlet was in Cortez, some 65 miles away.

By the time we got to Cortez, the Goldwing was handling like a grease pig on roller skates.
Steve transferred the flag to his bike.
Then we set off back to Bluff. It's the nature of the road system that the quickest way was to go back.

This is a little coffee house John found in Bluff where we waited for Gary.
He had to go back to the airport to retrieve his phone. I rang to see where he was just as he was searching his bike for the phone. It had dropped between the frame and the passenger footrest. If I hadn't rung he would never have found it.

Then it's off to Torrey.

If you ever get the chance to ride this road, DO IT.
The views are awesome in the true meaning of the word. Every rise gives you a new smack in the eyes.
You turn a corner and it does it again.
It's 200 miles of jaw dropping magnificence.

We came through this gap cut in the rock to be confronted by this.

It took nearly 20 minutes to ride round this citadel size rock.

About 140 miles in is the diner which apparently is world famous (I've never heard of it).

The double bacon cheese burger was good  - can recommend the food here.

This is towards the end of the 200 miles. I can only give you a taste of this road.  It has to be ridden to be believed.

We are now in Torrey for the night.

Current mileage - 1334

Bluff to Torey on a Harley Davidson just has to be done.
