Due to the adverse comments from some quarters, here is a run down of the Road King and my thoughts.

It's a 103 cubic inch (1700cc) six speed brand new out of the box bike and I love it.
It has no rev counter and I do not know what the engine is doing at any one time.  Having said that, it handles very well, sounds terrific and you get special treatment whereever you go. You may have noticed in Oakman that my Harley was parked in the shade and the Hondas sat out in the sun. Other Harley riders will acknowledge me, but not the Goldwing riders. I also get discounts.

I get about 200 miles to a tank, although after about 2 hours my bum hurts. In this environment it is in its element. Would not be seen dead on anything else. The riding position is ideal for touring in America and when I get bored I just have to look at the chrome or hear the engine to put a smile on my  face.

As you will see from the next post, it handles the conditions perfectly. Hope this keeps the cruiser fraternity happy.

You will be amazed by the next post.
